How Our Addiction Treatment Works

Holina Rehab treats addictions, often accompanied by trauma, anxiety and depression. We don’t have a fixed start date. The program begins as soon as you arrive.

We use the proven western 12 Step model of treatment, mixed with NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), and various other talking therapy strategies, combined with our holistic healing therapies and mixed with mindfulness practices, which originate from Thai Buddhism and other Eastern Spiritual practices.

"Holina has been a life changing experience for me. I've been to 4 rehabs in my life and this has been by far the most profound experience I've had. This type of treatment simply couldn't be found in UK based rehabs. I came in on a huge amount of psychiatric and illicit meds. I was safely weaned off all the drugs I was abusing whilst having the support structure i needed around me at all times. Whilst the location is paradise, the programme itself is very structured and reasonably strict, which is exactly what I needed. Its helped me push my limits from a socially anxious man who isolated, to a (tanned!) man who looks forward to speaking and engaging in communities. "Holina provided an amazing environment for me to be able to build myself back up and provide me with the tools to leave and take on life again. It's a beautiful facility with amazing views and facilities such as the restaurant, gym and a well kept private beach. All the staff work really hard to keep the place clean and well kept. The structure of the days are fantastic ensuring a morning of group sessions and opportunity for yoga or swimming before breakfast. And a focus on the AA programme and step work in the afternoon. All the support staff are really caring and take time to listen to all their clients whether it's support with the step work or suggestions for how they could improve the treatment or facilities provided. I had fantastic therapists throughout treatment, my primary therapist I was able to see twice a week to really work through personal problems and building my ability to recognise my emotions and needs and how to move forward with them. I also had access to multiple somatic therapists which was something I had never experienced before and highly recommended taking advantage of that opportunity. Holina provides the safe environment to really work on yourself and gives you so much opportunity for growth and learning especially if youre able to apply yourself and really work hard with them. So it totally blew my mind exploring the space and finding out it had its own private beach, multiple pools, a full gym and was nestled into the jungle with beautiful bungalows speckled across the hillside. Then when I got a copy of the schedule and saw quite how much was on offer, I knew id made the right choice in choosing Holina. Everyday was jam packed with such a diverse line up of activities and the way the schedule is laid out is perfect. A really nice balanced mix of inner work, therapy, different spiritual practices, group sessions, step work, exercise and a chunk or two a day of time to be able to relax and appreciate the environment you’re in and soak up some of that tropical sun. The days were so rich and diverse and I was always being challenged to try new things and because of this I grew so much during my time there. It really was amazing quite how much was on offer there and every facilitator was incredible at what they did and it felt like it was so much more than just a job to most of them.
