Walking with Giants: Holina Sponsors Ethical Elephant Encounters at Phangan Elephant Sanctuary
At Holina Rehab Thailand, we believe that healing extends beyond personal recovery—it encompasses compassion for all living beings. We are proud to sponsor the Phangan Elephant Sanctuary, Koh Phangan’s first ethical elephant sanctuary, providing a safe haven for elephants rescued from the tourism and logging industries.
As part of our commitment to holistic healing and responsible tourism, every Holina resident has the opportunity to visit the sanctuary during their stay. This experience allows them to connect with nature, reflect on compassion, and witness the power of rehabilitation on every level.
Meet the Herd:
Jai Dee – Over 70 years old, affectionately known as ‘Granny’, she embodies wisdom and resilience.
Yin Dee – At 34 years old, she is gentle and curious, enjoying her newfound freedom.
Mee Sook – A spirited 45-year-old, she delights in mud baths and foraging in the jungle.
What the Visit Includes:
Residents participate in the sanctuary’s Tour Program, a two-hour immersive experience that includes:

Rice Ball Preparation: Hands-on activity preparing nutritious treats for the elephants.
Feeding Session: Interact with the elephants by feeding them rice balls and fruits.
