Rehab Near Koh Samui Airport: A 2026 Arrival Guide

Rehab Near Koh Samui Airport: A 2026 Arrival Guide

If you are searching for residential rehab near Koh Samui Airport, you are usually weighing two things at once: reaching safe, high-quality care quickly, and putting real distance between yourself and the environment where addiction took hold. This guide explains, honestly, how people reach residential treatment in this part of Thailand, what the journey involves, and how to judge quality once you arrive.

Holina Rehab is a licensed residential rehab and detox clinic (#84-03-00294), licensed by the Thai Ministry of Public Health, on the quiet side of Koh Phangan — the island next to Koh Samui. Koh Samui Airport (USM) is the usual arrival point, followed by a short private transfer and boat crossing. We are candid throughout: the setting helps, but the treatment is the clinical programme.

“People often arrive exhausted and frightened by the logistics. Our job is to make the journey from the airport as calm as possible — and then to be honest that arriving well is only the very first step of the work.” — Ian Young

Getting Here: Koh Samui Airport (USM)

There are no direct long-haul flights to Koh Samui, so most international guests fly via Bangkok or another regional hub and connect to USM. From the airport, our team meets you and arranges a private car to the pier and a short boat crossing to Koh Phangan. The transfer is straightforward, and having it organised for you removes a good deal of stress on the day you arrive.

Why Some People Choose Koh Phangan Over Samui

Koh Samui has several treatment facilities close to the airport, which can be an advantage if immediate medical attention is needed. Others prefer the quieter neighbouring island of Koh Phangan for its calmer environment. Both are reasonable choices; the right one depends on your clinical needs and personal preference, not on proximity to the runway alone.

Detox and Medical Care Come First

For alcohol and many other substances, stopping suddenly without medical support can be dangerous; withdrawal should be medically supervised. At Holina, detox is managed by a 24/7 nursing and clinical team. Just as importantly, detox is the first step, not the whole of treatment — outcomes depend heavily on the therapy and continuing care that follow, and detox alone is associated with high relapse rates without that ongoing support.[1]

Treating the Whole Person

Addiction rarely exists on its own. Many people arrive with co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety or PTSD, often rooted in earlier adversity; research consistently links adverse childhood experiences with later substance use.[2] Our Dual Treatment programme addresses substance use and behavioural health together, rather than as separate problems stacked on top of one another. Alongside psychotherapy, we offer somatic and body-based therapies — including breathwork, movement, yoga and water-based work — as part of the wider trauma treatment programme.

Cost and Insurance

Residential programme costs vary widely across the region. Our all-inclusive monthly rates currently range from $9,700 to $18,700 depending on room type, with longer stays offered at a lower effective monthly rate; see our rehab prices page for the current room-by-room list. We ask for payment in advance, but as a licensed clinic we provide the clinical documentation and invoices you can submit to a private health insurer if you intend to seek reimbursement. Cover varies considerably by insurer and policy, so please check the details directly with your own provider.

How to Judge Quality

Whatever facility you are considering, look for a genuine clinical licence, qualified and experienced staff (see our rehab team), medically supervised detox, and honest communication about what treatment can and cannot promise. Confidentiality and the availability of English-speaking clinical staff are reasonable things to ask about as well. Be cautious of any centre that leans on superlatives or rankings rather than on the substance of its programme.

Arriving, and Beyond

Recovery does not end at the departure gate on the way home. Aftercare matters: we help connect you with continuing support so that the gains made in treatment can carry into everyday life, wherever home happens to be.

“I finally came to Holina, and from the first day I arrived I had nothing but full professional support around me.”
